In 2017, Harry Otten, the founder of MeteoGroup (now DTN) and Maarten Noort, got together to start a new venture in the Weather market with the aim to offer an even more accurate forecast for the B2B industry, that helps its customers to build a safer, more productive and more sustainable world.

Therefore, they founded the Weather Solutions Holding B.V., which is the mother company for the German branch Wettermanufaktur GmbH and the international branch Weather Solutions NL B.V.. 

Both companies offer forecasting data and meteorological support to the mobility, energy, agriculture and events & media sector.

In 2020, the METIS forecasting engine was launched, which is based on a diverse range of data sources, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, historical data sets and frequent updates in combination with human meteorological expertise to provide the most accurate weather forecasts.

What distinguishes Weather Solutions from other companies, is that it has its own team of highly qualified in-house meteorologists. This team is available 24/7 to to answer the questions of our customers and monitors the accuracy of METIS, ensuring a balance of technological precision and expert insights.
